ASC2022: The Applied Superconductivity Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii !
The Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC2022) was held at the Hawaii Convention Center of Honolulu (USA) from October 23rd to 28th. After the many virtual conferences during the pandemic, ASC2022 was the first face-to-face large event in the field of superconductivity and its applications, with more than 1’300 delegates.
The abstracts of the Group of Applied Superconductivity were selected for four contributed talks and one poster, all listed here:
- The influence of the oxygen-source layout on the high-field behavior of internally-oxidized multifilamentary Nb3Sn wires, Presenting author: Gianmarco BOVONE, contributed oral;
- Reoxygenation conditions to restore the pristine superconducting properties of REBCO coated conductors after a complete deoxygenation, Presenting author: Pablo CAYADO, contributed oral;
- Critical current density improvement in CSD-grown High-Entropy REBa2Cu3O7-δ films, Presenting author: Pablo CAYADO, contributed oral;
- Degradation of Ic in high-performance Nb3Sn wires: a study combining electromechanical investigations and machine learning applied to X-Ray tomography, Presenting author: Carmine SENATORE, contributed oral.
- Metal-insulator-transition materials as a practical solution for a smart tuning of the electrical contact resistance in REBCO magnets, Presenting author: Marco BONURA, UNIGE, contributed poster;
The results of the group were disseminated also in many other presentations of the institutes and laboratories around the world that collaborate with us.
On the first day of the conference, Carmine SENATORE (UNIGE) and Tengming SHEN (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory) gave a full-day course entitled “High Temperature Superconductors: From the Materials to Magnet Technology”.
