CERN hosted the second edition of the Workshop on High Temperature Superconductors for Accelerator Technology (HiTAT) on October 23–24, 2025. The workshop focused on the latest advancements in REBCO coated conductor technology for use in accelerator magnets, with applications spanning from post HL-LHC high-energy colliders to hadron therapy and beamlines.
The event was organized as part of the European H2020-I.FAST project – WP8 Innovative Magnets and was held under the auspices of the International Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA).
During the workshop, Prof. Carmine Senatore was invited to present a talk titled, “Exploring the Critical Current Scaling and Electromechanical Limits of REBCO Tapes: How Far Have We Come?” In his presentation, he provided an overview of recent investigations at UNIGE into the latest conductors developed by industry.
