HFM Week 2025

Published on 14 February 2025

The High Field Magnet (HFM) Annual Meeting 2025 took place from February 10 to 12, 2025, at CERN. The HFM R&D Programme, initiated by CERN in response to the 2020 update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics, focuses on developing the next generation of accelerator magnets for future colliders. The meeting covered all aspects of HFM developments, from conductor R&D to magnet technologies, providing ample opportunity for sharing results and discussing future plans. Prof. Carmine Senatore delivered two presentations on the activities of the Group of Applied Superconductivity. One presentation focused on the latest advances in the development of Nb3Sn wires with internal oxidation (link), while the other addressed high-field tests of HTS conductors, specifically a new experiment designed to probe the delamination strength of REBCO-coated conductors (link).
