EUCAS 2019: The European Conference on Applied Superconductivity in Glasgow

The UK Superconductivity community hosted the 14^th European Conference on Applied Superconductivity (EUCAS 2019) in Glasgow from 1^st to 5^th of September 2019. EUCAS, with more than 1’000 attendees, is the most important European event in this field.

The Group of Applied Superconductivity contributed to the scientific program of the event with four oral presentations:

• Critical-Current Surface I_c(T,B) of Densified Ag-Sheathed Ba_1-xK_xFe₂As₂ Tapes, Presenting author: Marco BONURA;
• High field superconductivity in C-doped MgB₂ prepared by a rapid synthesis route, Presenting author: Davide MATERA;
• Binary and Ta-doped Nb₃Sn superconductors with internally oxidized ZrO₂ particles, Presenting author: Florin BUTA;
• Field dependence of the irreversible stress limit in high performance Nb₃Sn wires under transverse compression, Presenting author: Carmine SENATORE.
