CHART Workshop 2025 celebrating the 10th anniversary of CHART

Published on 13 November 2025

CHART (Swiss Accelerator Research and Technology), established in 2015, serves as a collaborative platform for accelerator research and technology initiatives in Switzerland. Its current partners include CERN, PSI, EPFL, ETH Zurich, and the University of Geneva.

A key focus of CHART is research and development in high-field accelerator magnets, alongside beam dynamics studies for both the FCC-ee and FCC-hh designs. On November 12, 2025, researchers from CHART-affiliated groups gathered at PSI for the annual CHART Workshop, which also marked a celebration of the initiative’s 10-year anniversary. During the event, participants shared updates on their ongoing research efforts.

The Group of Applied Superconductivity contributed two presentations, both delivered by Francesco Lonardo: one on the development of advanced Nb3Sn multifilamentary wires with enhanced current-carrying capabilities (link), and the other on the electromechanical characterization of Nb3Sn wires used in magnet R&D (link).
