The 2025 Coated Conductor for Applications Workshop (CCA-2025) took place from March 11 to March 13 in Geneva, hosted by CERN and the University of Geneva. This event attracted experts from all over the world, with over 150 attendees gathering to discuss the latest advancements in REBCO coated conductors.
Ahead of the main workshop, on March 10, Carmine Senatore and Bernardo Bordini (CERN) led a half-day introductory course titled “High Temperature Superconductors: From Materials to Magnets.” Held at the Stückelberg Auditorium at the University of Geneva, the course drew more than 50 graduate students and early-career researchers (Link 1, Link 2)
The Group of Applied Superconductivity contributed to the scientific program of CCA-2025, presenting two talks and one poster:
- “Delamination of REBCO Tapes Induced by Electromagnetic Forces: An Experimental Study” – Presented by Celia Lucas (Oral Presentation)
- “Comparison of the Angular Dependence of the Critical Current in Commercial REBCO Tapes for High-Field Applications” – Presented by Romain Babouche (Poster)
- “Tape Performance Specification and Performance vs. Production: The MuCol Experience” – Presented by Carmine Senatore (Oral Presentation)
The MaNEP association, along with the European Society on Applied Superconductivity (ESAS) and the IEEE Council on Superconductivity (CSC), proudly supported the event as institutional sponsors.
