The Applied Superconductivity Conference ASC2016 took place in Denver (USA) from the 4th to the 9th of September (ASC2016 website). Prof. Carmine Senatore was invited to give a plenary lecture entitled “30 years to HTS: status and perspectives” (link to the video).
The Group of Applied Superconductivity contributed to the program of the event with four oral presentations. Here are the titles:
- How to unlock full electrical connectivity in MgB2: the role of precursors and processing routes in controlling voids and detrimental secondary phases (D. Matera)
- Tuning of Jc in YBCO thin films using electric field effect (A. Fête)
- From the experimental study of the thermal conduction properties to a new formula for the quench propagation velocity in REBCO coated conductors (M. Bonura)
- Impact of the void morphometry on the electro-mechanical properties of Nb3Sn wires: a case study on bronze-route wires (C. Barth)
